I’m going to admit even as a moderate I like Bush, although do not I think he is doing an excellent job. I would say he is going a good job under circumstances. Mr. President, take the below advice, you have 18 months left get these things done or at least make some progress.
- Demand that the Iraqi Government to have their forces ready by the end of the year!
- Start pulling the troops out beginning January 1, 2008!
- Find Osama Bin Laden and bring him back to the USA to stand trial!
- Fire Alberto Gonzales!
- Close Gitmo and work with the Congress to create a special class for terrorists so you have a medium from Gitmo and the American Legal System.
- Issue an Executive Order to build more Oil Refineries in non-hurricanes areas, more refineries leads to lower prices. (For example when Hurricane Katrina temporarily closed some of the refineries, prices went up) and our current ones are aging and not as effective as they could be.
- Ensure that the Refineries are controlled by the oil companies (many of them are now held privately and independently, and as with any independent businesses, profit is utmost importance. It is in the refiners’ interests to supply only as much gas as is absolutely needed to stay on the profitable side of the supply and demand curve.)
I promise that if you do that Mr. Bush that your rating will shoot up.Good Luck!

I generally like your assessment, the only one I take partial exception to is beginning our troop pull out in 208, although you are correct that that would help Bush politically. We need to expect more from the Iraqi government and their troops, but they are still infants and need our help, regardless of the political consequences, it is in the best interest of the US to keep a large contingent of forces in Iraq. http://www.dryflypolitics.com

By #2 I didn’t mean to pull everyone out, I believe that we would it need it be to be a phased withdrawal. But I have to cast some of the blame away from Bush, where is the Iraqi Government? They have missed benchmarks that they have partner in setting up, our Troops have done a great job, but they are not the diplomats and politicians, this is now in the hands of the Government of Iraq…

Well, “Start pulling the troops out beginning January 1, 2008,” Bush won’t do it. To me, Bush would have been a great president and I would have liked him if he is not sooooo stubborn.
I really hope that he would close Gitmo. I’m pretty sure if this prison camp is close, the world would probably have a better view for Bush, maybe a little.
